Crazy Fork is an idea that births from my love for cooking good food and the memories that stem from it with my grandparents before COVID, as well as the wish to have a social impact on the community.
I noticed lockdown has hit my grandparents and many like them especially hard, and whilst I was looking for a way to make them smile again during the lonely period, it struck me that the best way to keep them company was talking to them about their recipes and cooking with them online. With this in mind, I rolled up my sleeves and begun doing little jobs to help fund the birth of the website Crazy Fork. With Crazy Fork we aim to rekindle the grandparents love for cooking and the warm and reassuring feeling of comfort that comes with it!
I hope this will encourage many kids to phone their Grandma or Grandpa to get their special recipes whilst having a chat with them – and of course, share their recipes with us, so Crazy Fork could become a network of tasty homemade recipes! Our end goal is to create a book with the recipes you will share with us. The money made from the books will be given to a charity helping older people in need during COVID. Yet, our most important aim is to keep Grandparents company during this pandemic. At Crazy Fork we believe that cooking is the best recipe for happiness and togetherness in this otherwise tough period. That’s not so crazy after all. Read my interview here!
